Peter Clinch is a senior adviser to the government on competitiveness, trade and economic policy. A former Vice-President of University College Dublin, he is currently Jean Monnet Full Professor and Chair of Public Policy at UCD, and an affiliate faculty member of the competitiveness programme at Harvard Business School.
He holds BA, MA and PhD degrees in economics, with visiting positions or invited speaker status at the University of California, Berkeley and San Diego, Said Business School at Oxford University, Cambridge University, the University of Southern California, and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
He has worked with the World Bank and OECD, serving Irish governments across the political spectrum and as a member of the National Economic and Social Council, a member of the Climate Change Advisory Council and as special advisor to the Taoiseach.
In 2017, Prof. Clinch was conferred with a Fellowship of the Academy of Social Sciences.
